Event Details
Stallholders Required To Exhibit At This Event. Please See Details Below.Andoversford is home to the Cotswold Point-to-Point races, an enduring fixture in the Gloucestershire sporting calendar, and one of the fastest growing Pointing fixtures in the calendar. Some of the countrys best steeplechasers have been seen at Andoversford, and were situated right in the middle of racing country, equidistant from the large training yards of Jonjo ONeill, Kim Bailey, Nigel Twiston-Davies and Tom George.
Come racing at Andoversford, and you can expect to see competitive and entertaining racing, rub shoulders with friends, the rich & famous, and horsemen from all over the West Country, and enjoy a quintessentially British afternoons entertainment.
In 2016, we relaunched a famous Cheltenham Festival race that originated at Andoversford - the Grand Annual. The Robert Hitchins Group Andoversford Grand Annual is a classic piece of racing heritage, bringing our race, first held at Andoversford in 1834, back to its rightful site. In 2018, the Robert Hitchins Group Andoversford Grand Annual will be the centrepiece of our most valuable card ever, and plays to the heritage of a race that now concludes the Cheltenham Festival. The original and definitive version began over the fences and ditches of Andoversford, won in an eventful race by Fugleman.
But racing at Andoversford is about much more than just one race. It's a full-blooded celebration of the best of steeplechasing and country life, in a wonderful rural setting less than 6 miles away from the cultural and sporting hub of our county. Last season's camel racing drew an enormous crowd to enjoy some local sporting and hunting legends competing on less orthodox steeds than they are normally used to! So come expecting more than just great racing and hopefully you won't be disappointed.www.andoversfordraces.co.uk
