'With In Excess Of 60 Trade Stalls, Some 70 Display Groups And Over 500 WW2 Re-Enactors, This Year's Show Will Be Bigger And Better Than Ever!'
Lincolnshire | 22.06.2018
Welcome to Baston in the Blitz 2018!
Following our enormously successful 2017 show, we are now working to present an even bigger and better event for your enjoyment in 2018. With in excess of 60 trade stalls, some 70 display groups and over 500 WW2 re-enactors, this year's show will be bigger and better than ever!
We are pleased to announce that we have arranged for a uniquely different display to appear at Baston this year. This is courtesy of Weddings of Yesteryear who put on a superb display of original wedding dresses and accessories from the 1940s. These include a couple of CC41 gowns and one made from salvaged parachute silk during the war. There is also an example of what the wartime bridegroom would have worn on his big day. This fascinating collection will be on display in the village hall on the event site and is not to be missed! Admission is free to anyone who has paid for entry to the event.
For those of you who enjoy our battle re-enactments, we have a special treat in store this year. The German StuG III assault gun that we debuted last year will be joined by a second version. We will also have an American M24 Chaffee tank, a pair of US Army M2 armoured half-tracks, plus a 75mm Pack Howitzer, not to mention more than 60 combat re-enactors taking part. Plenty of smoke, big bangs and lots of action!
We have reviewed our catering arrangements and, to slash queuing times for food and refreshments, plus offer a wider choice of fare, we have more than doubled the number and variety of caterers operating at the show this year. In addition to our usual central food court next to the entertainment marquee, there will also be other refreshment stands located near both event entrances plus a separate coffee shop at the marquee entrance.
Please do come and enjoy the very special 1940's event experience that is Baston in the Blitz!
