Northamptonshire is lucky to have two great crafting organisations working together to ensure crafters can make the most of their hobby. This unique shopping event is the first of 4 planned for 2015 and is proud to be showcasing the work of around 50 local and UK wide crafters.
Rose of the Shires Craft Group was founded in 2006, running several fairs in Wellingborough including a marquee at the Carnival. The Facebook group was set up in 2011 and really does achieve its aim of "Helping budding crafters to bloom" by running a friendly community on Facebook and hosting several further fairs at various venues including Wicksteed Park and the historic parish church of St Marys in Finedon.
Tammy Grigg, founder of Rose of the Shires Craft Group, opened a craft shop in Finedon in August 2013, initially just having the use of half of the premises, it soon quickly grew to take over the whole building. It stocks a wide range of craft materials including wool and papercraft supplies and has an ethos of Pure crafting hence its name "Pure Crafters & Craft Supplies", renting out affordable display shelves to around 40 crafters. It runs a popular childrens craft group, other various groups including a knit & knatter and various workshops as it strives to ensure it lives up to its aim of "Giving crafters wings" either through education, encouragement, promotion or by simply supplying the correct crafting item to complete a project.
A warm welcome awaits you in the community centre where several crafters will be demonstrating skills and techniques for your enjoyment and education. Chat to the crafters, exchange tips and advice, meet other like minded people and add to your stash, get a perfect gift or treat yourself to something special.
