Bristol has an historic harbour full of tradition but it had unfortunately become associated more with drinking culture than a desirable location for those that love Bristol to visit and be proud of.
In 2010, No.1 Harbourside opened its doors aiming to promote more sustainable, quality, local and accessibly priced fare. The restaurant also looked outside its own doors, to actively promote other activities within the Harbour that shared a more progressive philosophy. The ambition was to reclaim this historic part of town and to make the waterfront relevant to everybody. As part of this vision, No.1 Harbourside created The Harbourside Market.
The Harbourside Market Vision is to not be ‘just another market’. We wanted to be a proudly independent alternative to the high street, supporting local creativity and providing a safe space for everyone to shop, eat and relax within an historic setting.
Since 2010, the market has grown to become home to around 40 talented local stallholders each week. With the help of other inspiring local businesses in the area, the tides have now turned on the past and the waterfront is now a beautiful, family friendly destination frequented by tourists and locals alike.
Come and enjoy the best of what Bristol has to offer, be that local creativity from the market, a cycle tour with Cycle the City, delicious food stalls, live music, children’s entertainment, a trip on-board a Bristol Ferry, a film at the Watershed or, if you’re feeling brave enough, even some stand up paddle boarding!
Opening Hours
Saturday & Sunday 10am – 4pm.
